Through you participation and gracious donations the GutBuster Trail Running Series was able to raise $600 for the Vancouver Island Marmot Recovery Foundation (which enabled us to adopt 4 marmots for the year) as well as $2300 for the Runners of Compassion chapters on Vancouver Island. The FRONTRUNNERS GutBuster Trail Running Series is Vancouver Island's Premiere Trail Running Series that takes runners off the road and onto the some of the most amazing trail networks in Western Canada. We are offering five exciting races for the 2008 season. Click here to view the schedule.

We are excited to continue with the GutBuster Half Marathon in Nanaimo. This is one of the only Half Marathon Trail Races in BC and with such an amazing turn-out last year, we are expecting another great turnout.

The GutBuster takes place on mountain courses featuring winding single-track and a healthy dose of elevation loss and gain.

Run, hike or climb....it doesn't matter, just come on out and Bust a Gut! But be warned: Trail running is highly addictive and can keep you in excellent shape. The question is... ... ... ... Are you ready to Bust-A-Gut?

(remember to 'refresh' your cache) July 12/ 09 - Another successful GutBuster completed. There were 157 finishers at this years Royal Roads GutBuster. Big thanks (and curses) to the Royal Roads Run Club for designing two very challenging but fun courses. Photos should be up shortly. July 8/ 09 - So far the season has been great. Many thanks to Ceevacs and Runners of Compassion Nanaimo for their excellent course design and set up for the first two races. Royal Roads Run Club has designed a new exciting course which we are sure will fit well with the GutBuster theme. Mar 12/ 09 - The 2009 schedule is now posted and online registration is now available. Feb 21/ 09 - We are very happy to welcome back The North Face Canada as the Presenting Sponsor for the 2009 GutBuster Trail Running Series. Sept 18/ 08 - After the completion of a successful first year we are hard at work scouting for possible new locations and sponsors to help make the 2009 season as memorable as ever. Check back later for the 2009 schedule. Aug 14/ 08 - Only a couple days till the final GutBuster. The Westwood Lake Gutbuster saw a total of 232 finishers. Check out the great photos and results. Congrats to all racers and volunteers and a big thanks to the Nanaimo Runners of Compassion. May 15/ 08 - Results and photos are up from the first MOMAR of the season this past weekend in Sqaumish. Look at that arch! May 11/ 08 - Congratulations to Jeff Hunt and Bob Wall for being the first to run the 60k North Coast Trail on opening day (May 10th). Great running guys! May 5/ 08 - GutBuster 002 went off as a success. Congrats to the 162 brave finishers that scaled the steep slopes of Mt. Tzouhalem. Results.
